Spring break is here, and surely your kids will spend much more time at home.
Here are some ideas for activities your little ones can do in their free time, while also learning how to keep conserving water both inside and outside the house.
Remember, young children learn best while having fun, so try to make water conservation enjoyable and be a role model.
For the Kids
Educational Activities
Get inspired by activities like coloring, drawing, and crafting that DO NOT use water. Download our coloring book “Conserve Water, Rain or Shine” and color along with your kids.

Fun Board

Clean with Less Water
Now that your kids will play more with their toys at home, teach them to clean them (bike, toy cars, skates, etc.) with a sponge or cloth to avoid wasting water.

For the Family
Visit Gardens and Nurseries
There’s no easier way to learn about efficient irrigation and drought-tolerant plants than through practice. Organize visits to your nearest garden and nursery, or places like Latinx With Plants, where you and your family can learn all about low-water plants and buy some for your home.

Wash Full Loads
With the kids spending more time at home, you’ll surely have more loads of laundry and dirty dishes. Make sure to use the washing machine and dishwasher only with full loads and make the most of each cycle.

Make the Most Games with Water
If your kids love playing with water balloons, make sure they do so in areas where the water can be reused, such as on the grass or in the pool.
