Your thoughts on your garden:

I love how it was transformed from an embarrassing pile of gopher holes to a traversing dry stream with a cute wooden bridge surrounded by an abundance of flowers.

What people tell me about my garden:

They come up past our picket fence and are amazed to see the garden that is only revealed when one enters through the gate. Everyone loves our little creek bed and bridge.

What my kids like about my garden:

They like to take their friends over the bridge and look at the different flowers that are in bloom.

What surprises people most about my water-wise landscaping:

They are surprised that there is so much diversity and choices of drought- resistant plants. They think the only choices are cactuses, grasses and aloes.

What I like most about my water-wise garden:

It brings us as a family to spend more time outside to see what new flowers have bloomed.

Saving water is important because…

water is such a precious resource of the earth. From what we learned on a ranger walk, only a fraction of the 1% of the usable water is drinkable.
